Andrew R. Jacobs is the founder and principal attorney at the Law Offices of Andrew R. Jacobs, serving New Jersey statewide and New York City in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death, including auto and truck accidents, dangerous or unsafe premises, defective products, and more.
Andrew Jacobs graduated from Rutgers University with high honors in 1968, where he was selected for membership to Phi Beta Kappa and Cap and Skull honor societies. He earned his Juris Doctor law degree from Columbia University in 1971, where he was the recipient of the Jerome Michael Prize for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and also recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
Following law school, Mr. Jacobs served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Anthony T. Augelli, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He has also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey and for the Eastern District of New York, where he was Chief of Special Prosecutions and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. Mr. Jacobs received both a Special Achievement Award and a Special Commendation Award during his tenure with the Department of Justice. Since 1985, Mr. Jacobs has devoted the majority of his practice to helping injury victims recover compensation for the harm done to them through the negligence or wrongful conduct of others.
Mr. Jacobs has been selected to SuperLawyers Top Lawyers in New Jersey in plaintiff’s personal injury law by New Jersey Monthly Magazine. He has also been selected for membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 and is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the areas of Civil Trial Practice, Personal Injury, Criminal Trial Practice and Product Liability Law.
Mr. Jacobs is President of the Rutgers College Class of 1968, a recipient of the Class of 1931 Prize, and was selected for membership in the Society of Loyal Sons and Daughters of Rutgers College. He has served as President and remains on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey YMHA-YWHA Camps, and is a member of the Eagle Scout Alumni Association, Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America, and co-advisor to Explorer Post 22. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army with the rank of Captain.
